Hanoi – Ninh Binh Excursion 2 Days 1 Night

Ninh Binh, often called “Halong Bay on land,” is a province in Vietnam that offers a spectacular landscape combining karstic mountains, lush green rice paddies, tranquil rivers, and ancient citadels. This destination, less known than Halong Bay but just as fascinating, is a true paradise for nature lovers and history buffs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Trang An (L) with guide and driver

8:00 AM: The Vietnam Tradition Travel guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. Depart by road for Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam in the 10th-11th centuries.

First, you’ll visit the two royal temples of Dinh and Le Anterior to better understand the history of Vietnam.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Afterward, transfer to the Trang An wharf (known as the “Halong Bay on land”) for a rowing boat trip through the heart of this heritage site. The cruise lasts about 2.5 hours, during which you will visit four fabulous caves amid a stunning aquatic landscape dotted with immense limestone peaks. You’ll see jagged rocks, twisted formations, and hollowed-out bases with bizarre shapes.

Next, you will go to Tam Coc. Then, you will visit the Jade Pagoda, located within a beautiful cave and a lovely garden.

Dinner is on your own, and you’ll spend the night in Tam Coc.

Day 2: Cycling Tour – Mua Cave Viewpoint – Bai Dinh Pagoda – Hanoi (B, L) with guide and driver

After breakfast, you’ll go for a cycling tour around the region, a journey that takes you through rice paddies and villages.

Next, you’ll head to Mua Cave. Climb to the mountaintop viewpoint to take in a panoramic view of the valley.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will visit Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. You’ll take a tour to learn about Vietnamese Buddhism.

3:00 PM: You’ll begin the drive back to Hanoi.

You will arrive in the late afternoon. You will have free time to rest.
